"Waipa" (1017 tons) Left England on 28/1/1883 arriving at Lyttelton 17/5/1883. Captain Gorn who commanded the "Waipa" for five years died when off the Cape of Good Hope. The ship was brought on by the Chief Officer, Mr Baxter.

Sarah married Joseph Hopwood, son of Joseph Hopwood and Mary Anne Beatlestone, on 15 Jul 1861 in Parish Church of Astley Abbots, Shropshire. (Joseph Hopwood was born in Sep 1832 in Broseley, Shropshire, christened on 29 Sep 1832 and died on 13 Jun 1893 in Ashburton, NZ.)
